Abstract: This project exposes the obtaining process of a human anti Galectin-1 monoclonal antibodies throughout the immunization with human Galectin-1 a mouse knockout in Galectin-1. The immunized rodent will produce anti Galectin-1 antibodies with blocked capacity of the biological functions that produces the protein in a tumour microenvironment, such as: the induction of the thymocites apoptosis and a vascularisation increase of the tumour. The monoclonal antibody obtaining process is long, and therefore, the final stage will be exposed in this project where they have been carried out ELISA tests to be able to see the antibody specificity against the protein (Galectin-1) and in vitro functional studies to prove the antibody efficacy to block human and mouse Galectin-1. En aquest treball s’exposa el procés d’obtenció d’un anticòs monoclonal anti Galectina-1 humana mitjançant la immunització amb Galectina-1 humana d’un ratolí knockout en Galectina-1. El rosegador immunitzat produirà anticossos anti Galectina-1 amb capacitat bloquejadora de les funcions biològiques que produeix la proteïna en un microambient tumoral, tals com la inducció de l’apoptosi dels timòcits i un augment de la vascularització del tumor per tal de que es pugui nodrir i, per tant, créixer. El procés d’obtenció d’un anticòs monoclonal és llarg, i per tant, en aquest treball s’exposarà l’etapa on s’han dut a terme tests ELISA per veure l’especificitat de l’anticòs front a la proteïna d’interès i estudis funcionals in vitro per provar l’eficàcia de l’anticòs per bloquejar la Galectina-1, tant humana com murina.
