Abstract:
Holistic perspective of care for patients with Somatic symptoms disorders and related disorders Abstract Justification: The prevalence of patients with medically unexplained physical symptoms and Somatic symptoms disorders and related disorders in Primary health care, their complex therapeutic approach, poor quality of life perceived by patients and the consequent high healthcare spending, make surprising the lack of scientific literature on the Nursing role. Objective: To know the features of comprehensive and holistic care for people with medically unexplained physical symptoms or Somatic symptoms disorders and related disorders published in scientific literature, emphasizing in the Nursing role. Methodology: Literature review (November 2014 - February 2015) using the databases Cuidatge, Cuiden Plus, IME-CSIC, ISOC-CSIC, ENFISPO, IBECS, CINAHL and PubMed. Results: The therapeutic approach should be based on improving the quality of life, being the Primary health care as the main resource. Conclusion: Nurses should encourage the involvement of patients, psychosocial etiologies acceptance and adherence to treatments and psychotherapeutic interventions; considering the family as a therapeutic ally.
