    Abstract:
Thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism, are common during pregnancy. Hypothyroidism has negative effects in the health of the fetus and the mother. In this study, data from 2021 Santa Tecla Hospital pregnant women was analysed to examine patients based on their thyroid stimulating hormone, thyroxine, and thyroid peroxidase antibody results. Clinical history was also considered in some cases. The study concluded with the importance of checking for thyroid disorders during pregnancy to avoid mother and fetus risks. It was also considered the link between gestational hypothyroidism and several factors such as previous thyroid conditions and abortion, among others.
