    Abstract:
Circadian rhythms regulate mitochondrial function and antioxidant defense, and their disruption (chronodisruption) is linked to oxidative stress and metabolic imbalance. Grape seed (poly)phenol extract (GSPE) modulates redox homeostasis, but its role in chronic circadian disruption remains unclear. This study evaluated GSPE supplementation in male Wistar rats exposed to a regular 12:12 h or shortened 11:11 h light–dark cycle for five weeks. Liver samples collected at four time points were analyzed for gene expression and rhythmicity. GSPE partly counteracted transcriptional alterations induced by chronodisruption, supporting (poly)phenols as modulators of circadian disruption with potential protective effects.
