Ethnography, qualitative methodologies and health research: an open debate This book is, to a large extent, the outcome of the 7th REDAM Colloquium (Medical Anthropology Network). The various contributions are divided into three large sections: the first is an in-depth discussion of the scope and limits of medical anthropology and its collaboration with quantitative methodologies in the field of health and in particular epidemiology. The second analyses different research experiences with particular emphasis on their methodological aspects. The third, inevitably, deals with the health systems in contemporary societies and looks at the problems faced in one its primary institutions: the hospital.
