The project consists of designing a production plant of Nickel Alumina (Ni/Al2O3) catalyst. The synthesis occurs with the chemical vapor deposition technique in a fluidized bed reactor. This type of catalyst is used in oil refining processes and petrochemical plants in general. Production for which the process is designed is 50 tons per day of 10% Ni/Al2O3. The raw materials used are as follows: Nickel powder, alumina pellets, carbon monoxide and nitrogen. The formed volatile compound for chemical vapor deposition is Nickel Tetracarbonil (Ni(CO)4). The plant is located in the industrial north of Tarragona (1 º 13 '47.84'' E, 41 º 12' 3.73'' N). To choose the location of the plant has been taken into account the potential customers of the product and the proximity to necessary services provided by neighboring businesses. On the other hand, for know the amount of raw materials needed and the dimensions of the equipment (tanks, piping, reactors, etc.) matter and energy balances of the process have been made. Once sized equipment, control systems have been implemented on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safe operation of the plant. Also, it has drawn the main floor plans (block diagram, PFD, P & ID, Plot plant, emergency and Plano areas with explosive atmospheres ATEX). Safety, environment and plant operation manuals have been drawn up. The manuals cover the operating conducted initial startup, the starts and stops in normal state and emergency stops. Safety manuals collect the identification of potential risks as well as emergency response measures. Finally it has made an economic valuation in order to obtain parameters such as the Cash-Flow, IRR, NPV and Payback
