Abstract:Objective: The principal subject of this research is to know the Rovira I Virgili University’s student’s competences about the hematopoietic progenitor’s donation and their opinion about the subject. Another of the subject tasks, is to identify influencing factors directly on the decision they make about taking a step forward to be a part of REDMO. Methodology: This project is divided in two phases. The first phase is done through a transversal descriptive quantitative investigation. The second part is about the design and elaboration of an informative capsule adapted to the investigation results. Results: Around 80% of the students have a general idea of the bone marrow anatomophysiology and the donation process. All the students consider the bone marrow donation as a solidary and altruism based need. A surprising fact is the students believe about the spine marrow manipulation during the process. This shows us the worrying fact that is acquiring the wrong information as it is the lack of it. About the pool participants attitude, only 3,5% are marrow donors. The presence of negative thoughts because of the lack of information, as it can cause fear and insecurity. This is the biggest obstacle in the way for the students to step up for the process. Conclusions: A higher knowledge insures a stronger feeling of wanting to be part of REDMO. Referring to the hypothesis, the pool participants know generally the marrow donating, which implies an unknowing perception, becoming this the main “no donation” cause. We find ourselves in front of an interested and ready collective to receive information, so this makes the introduction of this subject from a more informative point of view be able to solve all doubts, a point of view that doesn’t focus on the emotional fiber.
