Abstract:This end-of-degree work focuses on creating a hotel for travellers with dogs and studying its viability. It is about a three star hotel, called Bordils You & Dog, located in the municipality of Bordils (Girona). This accommodation is directed towards travellers with dogs, not limited to being a pet-friendly hotel, but providing a complete service offering for both the customers and their dogs, being the main goal to become a leader in Catalonia to offer this unique service. The project has been analysed from different areas, starting from the contextualization of the pet tourism market; then doing a complete market study, including analysis of the environment, competition, target market and suppliers; a marketing mix plan; and a financial plan. The results of this work have showed that the first and second year the hotel would present a negative profit due to a greater amount of expenses than income, especially as a result of a very high staff and external service expenses. But from the third year, this result would be positive, making the generation of benefits possible and therefore becoming a viable project. Finally, the recovery of the initial investment would occur in the fourth year.
