Abstract:Introduction: The Burnout Syndrome could be defined as an extreme response to chronic stress caused in the workplace, which results in repercussions in the individual context, but also in organizational and social aspects, undermining the health and well-being of the worker In the field of nursing, professionals are a group vulnerable to suffering from this Syndrome due to their constant contact with people with difficult situations of attention to pain, death or complex health situations. General objective: Bibliographic review to know the reality of Burnout Syndrome in the professional context of Spanish nursing. Methodology: A systematic bibliographic review between the months of October 2018 and March 2019 was consulted by the different electronic databases such as the CSIC, CINAHL, Dialnet, Cuiden and Pubmed, according to the inclusion criteria. Results: Of the 113 articles found, finally 18 of them have been of interest for the analysis and are those that are included in this bibliographic review on Burnout Syndrome in Spanish nursing. In these, there is a great controversy in the incidence of the SB among the nursing professionals of Spain, both in their prevalence and in the units where they are most frequently presented. Analysis: Some authors coincide with the existence of sociodemographic and institutional variables that favor the appearance of this Syndrome. Most refer to prevention and intervention strategies, the improvement of working conditions and resilience as a method of confrontation and self-care. Some authors also agree with the devastating consequences of the SB towards the patients, being this a problem of public health. Conclusions: Despite the discrepancies between the different studies in the different units, the majority of the results show a reality that is alarming enough for the use of prevention and intervention measures, both in the workplace, institutional and personal, that contribute to increase Biopsychosocial well-being among nursing professionals and improve public health in Spain. Giving more attention to users and better health care.
