Abstract:Introduction: UV are considered a social problem that affects the quality of life of the person who suffers from it, as well as the health professionals who treat them, since they require a lot of therapeutic effort to achieve their cure and their cost of treatment is high. Currently, there are numerous CPGs that seek to clarify the most relevant aspects of how their approach should be, but there’re recent studies that mention that despite of the existence of these CPGs, variability in clinical practice regarding treatment is still evident. UV. Objective: To carry out an integrative review of the CPGs published by the main scientific societies, both nationally from Spain and internationally, containing data on the local treatment of venous ulcers in lower extremities, to guide professional practice towards a reliable and updated performance. Methodology: Integrative bibliographic review that includes scientific publications from databases such as GNEAUPP, Google academic, Google, and as secondary sources such as Tripdatabase. This way, the first 100 entries were collected from both Google and Google academic, while with Tripdatabase the first 50 entries from the 3 different searches that were performed. Results and discussion: A total of 9 CPGs were selected, 6 at the national level and 3 at the international level. The results were collected in a grouped manner according to the sections of the TIME acronym together with their respective degrees of recommendation. It has been possible to arrive at simple, concrete guidelines, with high evidence and reproducible in clinical practice, and thus be able to respond to the need to specify the information and guide the professionals who must cure a UV. Following the steps of the acronym TIME has made it possible to carry out a selective search adapted to the characteristics of each wound, specifically considering the characteristics of the UV itself. Conclusion: A good management and use of UV through the correct local cure will cause a reduction in expenses to the health system, improve quality of life of the patient and a greater satisfaction of the health professional, as well as a reduction in the appearance of recurrences of the injury.
