Abstract:Abstract Introduction: Cancer from a long time ago has become one of the most common diseases and more deaths occur in the world, and this has increased the interest of improving the quality of life of the person in the long process disease focus on an important aspect in the process of healing as nutrition. Aim: To review the literature on the influence the nutritional status of the person's quality of life. Methods: Literature search during the 2015-2016 course, on the bases of Pubmed, iCercador URV, ENFISPO, Scielo and Scopus data including articles between 2004-2015, written in Castilian and English. Results: Quality of life in cancer patients is already impaired by the disease, but one factor such as nutrition plays an important role in this. Weight loss, insufficient caloric-protein intake and cachexia syndrome suffered by many people give rise to a significant decline in the quality of life in addition to the location and extent of the tumor. Early detection and assessment of nutritional status and a multidisciplinary approach is a measure to prevent malnutrition and affect the quality of life. Conclusions: Currently there are evidences that a good nutritional status significantly influences a better quality of life of the person. It is reasonable to continue to devote research on the importance of a good nutritional status on the benefits it has on quality of life.
