Abstract:
Dysphagia is common after a stroke and can affect the quality of life and prognosis of patients. Lack of blood and oxygen supply to the brain during a stroke can damage the areas responsible for the control and coordination of swallowing muscles. The objective is to determine the frequency of dysphagia in men after suffering a stroke, its prevalence and its consequences. through retrospective analysis at the Joan XXIII hospital for one year, evaluating 108 male patients. Patient demographics, risk factors, and symptoms were collected.
