Abstract:
Sustainable fishing is an increasingly pressing political and social claim ordered by the environmental awareness of Western society and by the alarming lack of fishing resources. With the aim of reinforcing marine biodiversity and the economic sustainability of fisheries, new regulations are being sanctioned which, although they affect all fishing grounds, the importance of the Mediterranean, greatly affected by millennia of human activity, is usually mentioned. It is therefore necessary to review and review the existing administrative controls and the resources available to the executive branch to understand the situation of Mediterranean fishing, its environmental and economic effects, and the real possibilities of effective control.
