Abstract:This project would like to give an answer to a key question when you want to create a new hotel: which is the ideal location? The project wants to run a rural hotel business following sustainable methods. The fist point, and the main goal, is decided where is going to be placed the hotel. This question could be a key factor to keeps de success or not. At present, tourists are becoming more experts. They know what and how they want for themselves and they demand quality services, innovation and new experiences. This situation made that the place chosen to place the hotel have to accompanied by a group of services and tourist products that completed the experience of the costumer during his stay. The proposal of this work will be a small 4 stars hotel with 20 rooms and a spa area placed in a very attractive geographical point. In this way, the combination of the two factors, hotel and location, pretends to achieve that the customer feel that is in a privileged place where can enjoy at the same time of complementary leisure activities that contribute new and different experiences that satisfy all his needs. To attain the aim of the project has analysed, in the first place, the context of the rural tourism in Catalonia and in Spain. Then, it has realised a market study using several variables to delimit the study area reaching find the ideal place. The variables employed are climate, landscape, tourist inputs or complementary leisure offer of the zone. In the same way, it has realised a competitiveness study considering quantitative and qualitative aspects. Therefore, this work finishes giving as a result a tourist product that achieves to integrate the hotel to his surroundings, respecting environment and taking advantage of the values presents in the territory.
