Abstract:As a consequence of financial and economic international crisis that has affect during the last decade, both governments from different countries and the financial system, have been immersed in the necessity of introducing new measures by the sense of controlling the level of solvency and liquidity from banks. As a result, bonds Contingent Convertibles, known as CoCos, have appeared, with the aim of improving the solvency of banks, that are studied with more detail in this assignment, defining their regulation, its main characteristics, its related ratios and also some convertible contingent bonds issued in Spain from two banks that have a different financial situation, and other similar assets.
