Abstract:
This article introduces the methodology and results of the research entitled Bullying in schools in Salou carried out with the purpose of studying the phenomenon of Bullying in public schools: Europa and Santa María del Mar, located in the municipality of Salou, specifically in the 5th and 6th grade students. Troughout this text, you will find a detailed reference to the process of execution of this study, on the one hand, aspects of the theoretical basis of the term Bullying: definition, historical evolution, typology and structure (composed of three participants: aggressor, victim and the observer). On the other hand, the quantitative analysis of the results, presented in a statistical and descriptive way to objectively indicate the degree of presence of these problems and to be able to make a contribution both in their detection and in the search for ways to solve it. Along with aspects related to its methodological approach, such as the instrument for collecting and classifying the chosen data; surveys of 30 questions aimed at 90 students from both institutions, in which intrapersonal aspects such as self-concept and the family environment of students are addressed, and interpersonal aspects such as the relationship with their peers and their educational perception. As a conclusion, the reflection on the psychological profile of these and the role of agents of society (school and family) related to their causes and their consequences will be presented.
