Abstract:The Universitat Rovira i Virgili provides training for researchers through the Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) in the three key areas of Open Science: open access publishing, research data management and the development of data management plans. Before the pandemic, this was done face-to-face. In order to improve the dropout rate and the low ratio, it was proposed to virtualise the training. The pandemic forced the virtual training to be carried out without taking into account the technopedagogical design. This pilot study aims the process of conversion from face-to-face training to asynchronous virtual training in the field of research data management and open science data management plan. This study employed a methodology of Design-Based Research, taking into account the ADDIE instructional model and considering aspects of accessibility and usability. The sample consisted of 37 participants who gave a successfully evaluation about the training and the materials. Overall, improvements in the dropout rate and participation ratio are obtained and design criteria for further iterations are proposed.
