This research explores the most recurrent areas of heritage interest as generators of identity. The study focused on investigating the state of academic production on cultural heritage that explores its relationship with the identity construction of students in the regions of Catalonia and the region of Arequipa, between the years 2020 and 2024. The applied methodology was based in the systematic search exploration and selection of criteria. The results revealed that the areas of interest in both regions are similar, however, the objectives and approach regarding identity construction vary significantly between the two regions, with the largest gap existing in the educational component in the academic production of Arequipa.
