Consumption, nutritional habits and nutritional status of the population of Reus (III): age and sex Distribution of the consumption of milk, dairy products, visible vegetable fats and green vegetables

    Abstract:
    The analysis of the dietary intake by the interview method (24 hour recall) of a group randomly selected from the Reus census (Tarragona, Spain) demostrates that the consumption of milk and dairy products is low during growth although it is highest at this age. 30% dones not drink milk during the second year of age. The consumption of fats is high (maximum 62,1± 16,5 g/person/day at 16-20 years of age). We note a low intaken of vegetables, especially during childhood. In conclusion, the diet is poor in calcium and rich in monounsaturated fatty acids.
