Consumo, hábitos alimentarios y estado nutricional de la población de Reus: I. Consumo global por grupos de alimentos y su relación con el nivel socioeconómico y de instrucción

    Abstract:
    This study, using the analysis by interview (24 hour recall), provides an overview of the dietary habits of a population sample selected at random form the Reus census. It demostrates an excessive consumption of sugars and a high consumption of meat, fish, eggs, vegetables and fats. On the other hand, there is a low consumption of milk, dairy products, fruits, cereals, roots and tubercles. The consumption of meat, green vegetables and dairy products augments with increasing socioeconomic level of the family or the mother's education. The consumption of fruits decreases with the lower mother's education.

Este trabajo aporta mediante un análisis por entrevista (recuerdo de 24 horas), una imagen de la alimentación de una muestra de población escogida al azar del censo de Reus. Evidencia un excesivo consumo de azúcares y un alto consumo de carne, pescado,huevos, legumbres y grasas. Por el contrario existe un bajo consumo de leche, derivados de la leche, frutas, cereales y raíces y tubérculos. A mayor nivel socio-económico de la familia o de instrucción de la madre existe un mayor consumo de carne, verduras y derivados de la leche. A menor nivel de instrucción de la madre, mayor consumo de frutas
