Abstract: We address the issue of love-marriage migration, focusing on highly skilled migrant men and women. We examine the impact of South to North and vice versa migration on the careers and in the household management of heterosexual binational couples formed of a Spaniard and a Latin American. Based on several qualitative research projects, we studied the balance between both the working and the domestic/reproductive spheres. We observed a deterioration on the working conditions while in the domestic sphere, we detected increased household and/or childcare responsibilities, particularly accentuated in the lives of female interviewees.
