Abstract:
This initiative was rejected outright by the Agrupació Folklòrica, which considered that a popular song was being ruined. This rejection was shared by well-known personalities of the time, including folklorists such as Francesc Maspons i Labrós and Cels Gomis. Despite this rejection, Gomis wrote new lyrics for the anthem, which he never sent and which have been preserved in his personal collection. This paper follows this controversial episode, with the reactions aroused in the press, and recovers the proposed lyrics for the anthem that this folklorist never published.
