    Abstract:
Research on the digital transformation of higher education institutions emphasizes market aspects (online education) or service aspects (for teaching and learning activities), sometimes also addressing external relations (social networks and relationships with other institutions or with alumni) but often neglects the internal organization itself and how it can benefit from participating in a digital transformation process. This paper addresses the digital transformation needs of higher music education institutions in their management and organization. To this end, a case study of the Escola Superior de M & uacute;sica de Catalunya (ESMUC) is carried out, presenting the challenges that the ESMUC must face to sustain the digital mutation process undertaken and, in conclusion, the need to establish a Digitalisation Plan that contains the advances made and organizes its development through the participation of its community. The typology of analysis adopted was developed by Gong and Ribiere when they presented the "Going digital" scheme for organizations.
