    Abstract:
From a critical-theoretical, historical and ethnographic perspective, this work deals with the organizing dynamics, the symbols, the shared meanings and the history of a particular juvenile organization that names itself the Latin Kings 'nation', that began in the 40's in the US, that settled in Ecuador in the 90's, and has spread to other European countries. Against the positivist viewpoint on crime and perspectives on security, that only reduce this organization to a gang issue in the sense of a deviated juvenile group, this research has intended to inquire into the historical, social and cultural conditions that have allowed not only the birth of the Latin Kings organization, but its continuance in deeply unequal and excluding contexts, as well as its relocations due to the migration flow of Ecuadorians to countries where those adverse conditions are reproduced.
