    The main objective of this study is to establish the role that ICT should play in the teaching of Physical Education in secondary schools and at the same look in depth at the aspects of ICT that can provide greater benefits to the subject, both from the point of view of students and teachers. Information and Communication Technology is exerting a growing influence in economic, social and cultural aspects of society and its multiple effects can be clearly observed in many of the activities developed by students in their daily life. As an area within the educational curriculum, the subject of Physical Education, despite its essentially psychomotor, experiential nature, can not remain indifferent in the face of the new social reality of ICT and its enormous opportunities for teaching. To achieve the objective of the research, information has been collected through quantitative (questionnaires) and qualitative (expert interviews and focus groups) techniques. The questionnaires, administered to a sample of 47 physical education teachers working in 17 secondary schools in the Terres de l'Ebre area (Tarragona), provided the researcher with real insight regarding the use, knowledge and attitudes towards ICT by these professionals. On the other hand, to complement these data and determine the requirements for optimal incorporation of ICT in the area of Physical Education in secondary schools, a discussion group was formed with Physical Education teachers, and [semi-structured] interviews were held with seven experts in new educational technologies from Valencia and Catalonia.
