    Abstract:
    Introduction: The diabetic debut in pediatric patient is becoming an increasing health problem in hospitals so its important for the healthcare personnel to know the way of acting to achieve a better patient care. It’s necessary to make emphasis in the sanitary education that they all give to the patient and his main careers for avoiding diabetic symptoms and its complications. Objective: Identify nurses knowledge about the protocol of actuation in front a diabetic debut in pediatric patient and its state of application. Analyzing the existence or not of a health education programme (HEP) and if any of these two, both protocol and HEP, present needs for improvement. Methodology: It has carried out a bibliographic search to obtain knowledge about the different actuations in front of a diabetic debut. It has created a poll that has been complemented by a sample of 11 nursing professionals who work at the pediatric united of “Hospital Universitari Joan XXIII”. The data analysis has been doing using the statistic program SPSS vs.21. Results: Although most nurses know the best way of acting in front a diabetic debut, there’s a great lack of knowledge about the non-existence of a protocol of actuation. Most of the respondents are knowledgeable about the existence and application of the HEP. The results indicate that the staff polled believed that both the protocol and the program should be improved. Discussion: The main controversy in the protocol is about what is the best way to treat a diabetic debut; pediatric nurses agree with the bibliographic research. Focusing on the HEP, the various opinions on how to perform the health education are homogeneous, and the pediatric nurses agree with them. Conclusion: The nurse personal actually does a correct management in front a diabetic debut. It’s necessary to create an actuation protocol to treat the diabetic debut and to improve the HEP from the “Hospital Universitari Joan XXIII”.
