Abstract:
The triage process can be defined as a preliminary clinical assessment process, by which patients are ordered before their corresponding diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation. It consists of clinically evaluating patients according to their urgency or severity and not according to their order of arrival to the hospital emergency services. The implementation of a useful, valid and reproducible structured triage is the future commitment to improve the quality of emergency services. The triage is done by nursing, with or without medical help or by doctors through the procedure of reception, reception and classification. There are five standardized triage models, universal, structured, consensual and standardized; which have five levels of prioritization with established care times, which are based on symptomatic categories, key discriminates and clinical algorithms. The general objective of this work is to deepen the hospital triage in the adult patient in order to know the different types or models of triage at national level, the skills and/or skills necessary to perform a successful triage and the type of training required So that a nurse is able to work triage in a safe way for the patient, for which a bibliographical research has been done. The exploration and observation of this information leads me to conclude that triage is a fundamental pillar in the emergency services, where it has to be an objective tool, where the personnel in charge of this task has to be fully prepared, by which thing, the formation is paramount.
