    Abstract:
The relationship between the Gothic novel and Spain is no longer a pipe dream. We have to thank to Miriam López Santos because she has shown that there was a Spanish gothic tale epitomized by La urna sangrienta o El panteón de Scianella, novel of Pascual Pérez y Rodríguez, that has risen as the jewel of Spanish Gothic. In this research work I have analysed this novel not only to show that, really, is an excellent gothic novel that could form part of the European canon, but also to assess what kind of Gothic occurred in Spain, how the prescription was adapted across our borders, which things were imported, what is original and what is the relationship with the novels that could serve as further inspiration, The mysteries of Udolfo of Ann Radcliffe, and The Monk of Lewis. To do this, we proceeded to analyse the narrative techniques that show a greater dependence on the prescription.
