Abstract:
Death is one of the stages of the life cycle in which health professionals are present. This death can be due to a terminal illness, which goes through several stages in which the patient will have great suffering. For this type of patient, it will be necessary to provide a great comfort and well-being, which will ultimately lead to a worthy death. But, what is the best performance to achieve this result? The answer is in the patient's preference of how and where to die. In this work, the main objective will be to know the needs of the terminal patient, but above all to know the main benefits that cares for the patient terminal at his home. For the realization of the work, a bibliographic review has been made in different databases, in which 19 scientific articles have been selected that speak about the attention to the terminally ill at their address. Regarding the results obtained, the majority of authors agreed that the main need for terminal patients and their relatives is communication. On the other hand, they have also been the majority of articles showing the great benefits of caring for end-users at home. In conclusion, we can see that with technological and scientific advances, death has ceased to be a natural fact, since it is controlled and depersonalised. This fact causes an extension of the patient's agony, and what he really needs is to die peacefully without any suffering. In this way, we can say that the best place to avoid this suffering will be the domicile, where it will be in its environment.
