This intolerance stays during the entire life; the treatment is a strict diet without gluten. As epidemiology the population with celiac disease is of 1% at European level Objective: To know the experiences of families of children with celiac disease, diagnosed since more than a year around the area of Tarragona. Methodology: Research on mothers of children with celiac disease by the focus group using the semi-structured interview. The interviews have been literally transcribed and analyzed. Results: They were generated 6 categories: 1) track and diagnosis, 2) Information and Education, 3) Professional relationship, 4) Emotions and feelings, 5) Habits changes 6) Social relationship. Conclusion: The celiac disease has important effects at the psychosocial level, apparently in families’ feelings because of the bad acceptation of the pathology by people who are around them. There exists a social ignorance about what is celiac disease and how to carry out a diet without gluten. This ignorance in many times, reaches health professionals.
