Abstract:
In recent years there has been a change in supply and demand trends in the tourism sector. Tourists seek new experiences and new destinations and entrepreneurs seek to satisfy their customers. It has been detected that there is some demand in terms of black tourism destinations, therefore, the businessmen include within their offers, destinations with the characteristics of black tourism. Black, dark or pain tourism is a form of tourism that is based on travel to places associated with death, and tragedy, both natural and caused by man It is a phenomenon that can bring tourism a new revitalizing perspective to those tourist destinations that need it. The subject of study of this work is to analyse if the province of Tarragona could, in the future, include within its tourism resources the offer of black tourism as an added value to existing tourism, as an implementation of new destinations in the area, or to activate tourism in less developed tourist areas of the province.
