Abstract:
Introduction: The number of people with hearing impairments is increasing. This population has special characteristics and needs as they use different forms of verbal communication. Objective: The main objective is to analyse the process of communication during nursing care to hearing impaired patients in health services. Materials and methods: Bibliographic review study, conducted during since September 2018 to May 2019. The databases Cuiden, Scielo, Google Academic and Pubmed were consulted with the following key words: Deafness, Nursing Care, Health, Interventions, Strategies and Communicative Barriers. A total of 35 articles were identified and filtered, obtaining a total of 13 final articles and the rest were eliminated. Results: During this bibliographic review, among the difficulties encountered were: ineffective communication, lack of training of human resources, material infrastructure and inadequate personnel to receive and care for the deaf, damage to the autonomy of the patient, etc. Conclusions: It was observed that the communication deficit constitutes a barrier for health promotion, that professionals and health units are not in a position to qualified to accommodate and meet the health needs of the person with diabetes. In this way, the need to train these people is justified. professionals to provide a more humanized care, developing a more effective more inclusive society for people with special needs.
