Intervetion with families in situations of risc and abandonment. Reality or Formality?

Abstract:
Through the analysis of the situation of risks and abandonment of the minor in the state, autonomous and local area there are detected certain difficulties, as much in the intervention with families where a situation of risk or abandonment is observed in the child or teenager, as in the answers that the Protection System offers to the childhood to face this phenomenon in the Municipality of Tarragona. From an established regulation on, the reality finishes to get beyond the statutory and legal sphere, being observed in occasions, a fragmented professional intervention and a scanty importance in the integration that the nuclear family should play during the whole process. This causes that the design of theoratical basis of the system, which is the satisfaction of the minors needs, does not answer to its commitment. The tendency that the minor becomes institusionalised, provokes to drag on situations that initially should be transitory, leading to the paradox of producing an institutional maltreatment due to recive an inadequate attention. As a possible solution for the detected mistakes, the goverment has developed the project Child House, that, for the momento, is creating a series of professional expectations that already question the methodology before its opening.
