    Abstract:
This work analyzes the public spaces (characteristics, problems and perception) of the historic center of Tarragona, a city declared World Heritage Site since 2000 in relation to the architectural complex of the Roman Tarraco. For this, a GIS is implemented that includes its physical characteristics, the urban elements that define it, the uses that are carried out in them, etc. This information is complemented with field work and interviews that allow users to know the perception and satisfaction that users have regarding these spaces. Finally, based on the results obtained, a proposal for methodological improvement is developed for similar studies in other urban centers.
