Abstract:
Dactiloscopy is the study of fingerprints, also known as LFP, for the identification of a culprit in a criminal scene. It is one of the fundamental sciences of a criminal investigation, invaluable because of its specificity. The work is based on this study, as it is a bibliographic research to find and study different parameters that may affect the improvement of the LFP visualization. Within these factors there are, the surface in which the LFP is left, the reagents used, the particle size of the powder used, which is of great importance, the waiting time between the crime occurs and is found and others like further work. At first, this project had another focus, because it was linked to my Erasmus stay at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), related to the study of different powders, which were with silica-doped nanoparticles, functionalized or not functionalized with functional groups relevant for a better visualization. Despite this, due to the situation of the COVID ' 19, we had to look for another approach based on bibliographic research. It is necessary to know that the LFP are formed by pores that release sweat. At the moment the finger touches any surface, the sweat of these pores is deposited in crests, leaving a trace of evidence. Then, with regards to research, a series of tests have been proposed that could help to improve all of these factors for a better latent fingerprint development. Finally, during this bibliographical research we can obtain good results from all our objectives and use this review in some subject matter on forensic.
