FEASIBILITY STUDY OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY IN SMALL BUSINESSES AUTHOR: Joan Sánchez Subirats SUPERVISOR: Francisco Gonzalez Molina joan.sanchezs@estudiants.urv.cat francisco.gonzalezm@urv.cat Abstract. The risk prevention, is currently present in all businesses, from a small company to a big company. The regulations in this regard states that prevention aims to prevent all accidents and illnesses that may arise there from work. This study examines whether it is beneficial or not, the application of risk prevention for companies, since this implies from the outset of money. But the question is whether this does not apply in the case of preventing a worker suffers a work accident, the costs are a result of this accident exceeded, the application of the prevention of company. For this reason, we have chosen three small companies in order to carry out the feasibility study of the application of risk prevention. Each of the companies have provided the costs they entail for prevention, such as training workers, personal protective equipment for each, collective protections, etc. Subsequently calculated the various costs of social security benefits that can occur after an accident at work, as well as the different responsibilities with their sanctions against the employer who has a workplace accident. The conclusion of this study has been most beneficial in general, the application of risk prevention in comparison to the costs of the various economic sanctions that a judge can ask the company, with the aim of compensate the employee.
