This project arose from the need to optimise the company's water network, as it has rapidly grown the last years and has not been able to invest the time and necessary resources to deal with the problems of water shortages in situations of high productivity. For this purpose, a P&ID of the three factories, the boiler room and the water room was carried out. The company does not currently have this documentation, which is why this task has been carried out from scratch, thus carrying out field work that has lasted throughout the course of the project. Once the P&ID had been carried out, all the points of recurrent water use on a daily basis were identified and the average daily consumption of these was calculated. On the other hand, it was compared with the average daily production of the water room. The balance was then carried out to determine the production/consumption ratio. It was found that the water production is efficiently enough and does not need to be improved by the moment. However, the points of use were analysed, and it was observed that there is water consumption that could be reduced. For this reason, three alternatives for improvement to save up water are presented. Next, an economic evaluation was carried out, considering the investment required for each alternative and the water savings that it would entail. Finally, the time needed to amortize this investment was calculated and three of the three alternatives proposed were approved.
