Abstract:
Study about environmental and health repercussions on high voltage power lines in El Pinar's neighbourhood AUTHOR: Enric Serral Bley SUPERVISOR: Francisco González Molina Enric.Serral@estudiants.urv.cat In this study, we try to find out the possible relationship between magnetic fields produced by the high voltage power lines in El Pinar's neighbourhood and the cases of cancer, headache and other effects this towers cause. It is also analyzed the environmental impact produced by these power lines based on the knowledge of this study's author and the neighbours opinion. A comprehensible and simple basis is given to correctly understand the problem about electromagnetic fields to people who isn't expert on engineering neither on physics. The objective of this study is to get the authorities attention about the existence of this problem and, the objective of the neighbourhood can finally be achieved, the burial of the high voltage power lines. On the other hand, reasons and enough information is given to pose the need about implementing a regulatory legal framework about electromagnetic exposure. In annex of this study, there's attached a chronologic compilation of documents, and letters from the Reus' Town Hall, press clippings that have appeared with various information during the last years and about the problems that is being caused even with a signed agreement to solve the problem that's explained on this study, 2015 is the deadline to solve part of this problem, but there aren't still clues about when work will start, there are no preparations at the moment or it is expected to happen soon.
