    This work explains and analyses the mayor elections in the Spanish local regime and compares it with the regime of several Anglo-Saxon countries (United Kingdom, United States and Canada) that follow a direct election system of the mayor. This comparison tries to know the advantages and disadvantages of the comparative electoral systems.
