    Abstract:
The aim of this project was to improve the prediction of HDL cholesterol (HDL-C) by the Liposcale® test in samples with hypertriglyceridemia (TG>300 mg/dl). 50 µl of sample with TG>600 mg/dl were added to 150 µl of a human serum standardized buffer (spike-in). The values of HDL-C obtained with the spike-in protocol were more concordant with the biochemical determination than the standard Liposcale® protocol. Therefore, the prediction of HDL-C was improved in hypertriglyceridemic samples. The second aim of this project was to identify chylomicrons in serum with the Liposcale® test. The presence of chylomicrons was detected as a rise in VLDL particles.
