    Abstract:
IgA autoantibodies against transglutaminase 6 (TG6-Ab) have been suggested as a diagnostic biomarker for neurological dysfunctions related to gluten sensitivity like gluten ataxia. The present study aims to test TG6-Ab levels in neurological affection-suspected patients and coeliac disease (CD) patients, to validate the test for its use in clinical practice. Methodology is based in an Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay. Results recapitulate the prevalence of TG6-Ab in CD and neurological patients, although was obtained higher in healthy controls. TG6-Ab follow-up determinations seem to be a helpful diagnostic marker for neurological gluten-related dysfunctions together with previous clinical evaluation and classical gluten sensitivity tests.
