    Abstract:
Early diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in children is of utmost importance to avoid relapses and to make quick treatment decisions. Electrochemical biosensors have the potential to provide fast, highly reliable, sensitive and accurate quantitative response, at a low cost, and with the ease of miniaturisation. In this project, exosomal miRNAs emerging biomarkers related to ALL will be chosen. Next, semiconductor porous materials will be fabricated and their chemical functionalisation addressed to perform as sensing platform. Finally, we will design and optimise the most suitable sensing mechanism for the electrochemical detection of the target analyte.
