Abstract: El SARS-CoV-2 va aparèixer per primera vegada el 2019 a Wuhan a causa d'un augment de pneumònia inusual per causes desconegudes. S'han fet moltes investigacions per entendre el seu comportament però, després de dos anys, hi ha alguns mecanismes moleculars que encara no estan clars com el paper de les citocines. Per aquest motiu, aquesta revisió pretén resumir el paper de les citocines i la seva immunopatologia, així com el possible tractament per evitar la tempesta de citocines (CS) amb l'administració d'interferó. S'han d'investigar noves estratègies terapèutiques per a la població de risc o per a aquelles que no responen al tractament actual. SARS-CoV-2 firstly appeared in 2019 in Wuhan due to an increase of unusual pneumonias for unknown causes. A lot of research has been done to understand its behavior but, after two years, there some molecular mechanisms which are still unclear such as the role of cytokines. For this reason, this review pretends to summarize the role of cytokines and its immunopathology, as well as the possible treatment to avoid the cytokines storm (CS) with interferon administration. New therapeutic strategies should be investigated for the population at risk or for those who do not respond to current treatment.
