Abstract:
This paper aims to delve into the field of retranslation in order to get a general understanding of the subject and to find why there have been so many translations or retranslations of the same classic into the same target language. In this case, I have chosen to compare four different translations of 1984 by Orwell, to see if the factors that have led to the change correspond to the factors described in the Retranslation Hypothesis as well as to my hypothesis.
