Abstract: This research aims to study the representation of a non-European culture shown in the novel Kim by the Indian author Rudyard Kipling. The first point includes information about the historical context in which the book was written. Next, the study includes a definition and use of the term Orientalism, described by Edward W. Said, who also analyzed Kim. There is also a biography of the author, which includes some characteristics of his works. Finally, a summary of the plot of the book is explained, followed by its respective analysis, including the description of the main characters and the main topics.
