    Abstract:
The main objective is to see how the variables perceived self-efficacy and attitude towards mathematics are related to each other, academic development and if socio-demographic variables of gender and course affect the variance of the results. The sample used was N=48 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. Self-efficacy correlates significantly (p<0.01) with attitudes towards mathematics. That the perception of mathematical incompetence and the taste for mathematics explained 15.4% and 18.6% respectively of the observed differences. No notable differences were found based on gender or course
