    Abstract:
The study aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal age and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) by analyzing the characteristics of 166 pregnant women in their second trimester. The study found that GDM and a pregnant woman's age could potentially influence HDL and HbA1c levels. However, there were no significant changes observed in cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides, prolactin, and cortisol. Pregnant women under 35 with GDM had higher levels of HbA1c compared to those without GDM. Conversely, adults over 35 with GDM may be identified based on lower HDL levels. The study suggests that age may be a risk factor for GDM based on these statistical differences.
