Abstract:
Mitochondrial dysfunction in schizophrenia has been described in various areas, although mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) has not been fully studied and of its utmost importance. The objective of the study is to analyze the mDNA obtained from the tissue of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and individual control to see if patients present sequence alterations, deletions and/or insertions that may contribute to schizophrenia.
