    Abstract:
    The aim of this thesis is to assemble systems for children with communication difficulties due to intellectual or motor disabilities. It builds on previous research on the importance of addressing all possible pathways involved in communication. Communication disorders have been classified according to affected areas and some types of disorders are detailed. Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems (SAAC) are mentioned to compensate for communication difficulties. A survey was made of education professionals in Catalonia to find out the most used systems and the need for more training in attention to diversity. The importance of collaborating with families and other professionals in education and health is also highlighted.
