    Abstract:
Improving recurrence risk assessment methods using our biomarkers is essential for colon cancer. PLA2G12A has been selected as a candidate with poor characteristics. In this study, the PLA2G12A gene was overexpressed in three human colonic cell lines (HCT116, HT29, SW480) to evaluate its role in proliferation, colony formation, invasion and migration. HCT116 show more proliferation, attributable to genetic alterations. HCT116 and HT29 show reduced invasiveness, significant in SW480. PLA2G12A, implicated in tumor progression and prevention of dissemination, can be considered a promising prognostic biomarker in colon cancer.
